Global Tuna Manager

Alexia is Global Tuna Manager and lead on other large pelagic species in SFP's Programs Division. In addition, Alexia is a working on a joint contract between SFP and the Monterey Bay Aquarium assessing tuna and large pelagics fisheries through their Seafood Watch program. Alexia is also an Associate Research Faculty with the University of New England, working on the impact of spiny dogfish and seals on the Gulf of Maine ecosystem. Alexia’s other interests include elasmobranch population dynamics, population and ecological risk assessments, bycatch mitigation techniques and international fisheries management. Alexia received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida, MS from Nova Southeastern University and BA from Lake Forest College. She is based in Belfast, ME.
