Industry Leadership
Seafood sustainability is only possible if industry is on board.
In all of our impact areas, SFP’s primary goal is to build industry leadership to take sustainability to scale. We work with fishers and other stakeholders to demonstrate what is possible. And then, as forward-thinking companies begin to adopt these strategies, we step back and let them lead.

SFP Industry Partners: Large retailers and brands set the tone
A key part of our industry leadership approach is the SFP Industry Partnership model. Our corporate partners share our commitment to long-term seafood sustainability and the continuous improvement of fisheries and fish farms. These companies have the reach and influence to actively drive change in fisheries and aquaculture by supporting improvements within their supply chains. LEARN MORE about partnering with SFP -

Through SFP’s Supply Chain Roundtables, major buyers and importers work together for change in specific seafood sectors. LEARN MORE about Supply Chain Roundtables -
Producers and processors: Putting sustainability strategies into practice
SFP pioneered the development of multi-stakeholder improvement efforts that bring a wide range of actors together to demand and leverage better management of fisheries and aquaculture regions. We also support the development of producer and processor organizations that can advocate for improved social and environmental approaches and policies that support sustainability.
