We’re always working to make Seafood Metrics more useful and transparent for everyone tracking sustainable seafood. Here’s the latest:
Find FAO areas when exploring wild-capture fisheries
Now you can see FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) area information directly within Seafood Metrics – giving you clearer insight into where your wild-capture seafood comes from. This info is available on:

Scenarios page for Customer accounts

Find & Add Favorites page when searching for wild-capture fisheries for Supplier accounts
Plus, for suppliers, FAO areas will appear in your saved list of favorite fisheries, making it easier to track origins at a glance.
See MSC Conditions right on the scorecard
Seafood Metrics now displays Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) conditions on the Metrics rating scorecard – providing a more detailed look at certification status and related conditions behind your seafood sources.
Currently, scorecard visibility with MSC conditions is available to users with Customer interface accounts. Suppliers who report their seafood source data through Seafood Metrics can access the scorecard through an optional subscription service, offered as one of the available subscription tiers.
To learn more about subscription options and pricing, please review our Seafood Metrics Subscription Guide.
We hope these new features make it simpler for you to source sustainably and confidently. Dive in and explore the updates – and if you have questions, reach us anytime at metrics.support@sustainablefish.org. Our support team is ready to help.
