Celebrating 15 Years of Making Seafood Sustainable
Sustainable Fisheries Partnership is celebrating our 15th anniversary this year. Over the past 15 years, our contributions established sustainable seafood as what we know it as today and transformed how business is done in the retail and seafood industry.
To mark this milestone, we published SFP＠15, a chronicle of SFP’s history and evolution, people, and accomplishments. Also, keep an eye out throughout the website for SFP＠15 timelines that tell the story of some of our tools and programs over the years (the first one is below!).
SFP created the model for fisheries conservation that now is the standard approach to seafood sustainability by retailers, foodservice companies, and brands around the world.
– Jim Cannon, founder and chief executive officer
“SFP created a new path to sustainability. We proved that we could achieve conservation goals at a large scale by working directly with the seafood supply chain.”
Purbasari (Sari) SurjadiChief of staff and a founding member of SFP
“We established sustainability as a core business practice and introduced unprecedented transparency into seafood production. Now sustainability and transparency are at the heart of seafood sourcing.”
