Global Seafood Alliance Responsible Seafood Summit

The 24th annual Responsible Seafood Summit, the leading international seafood business conference focused on advancing responsible practices across the seafood supply chain, will bring together industry leaders from around the world to address some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities in seafood production and trade.

SFP’s EU Markets Partnership Engagement Specialist David Parreno Duque will participate in two events at the summit:

A plenary session entitled “Fishery Improvement Project Case Study: Sourcing Strategies for Mahimahi and other Migratory Species” from 9:05-10:50 a.m. on October 1. David will speak about how collaboration, data collection, and targeted management have transformed the fishery into a success story.

A panel entitled “How Can Seafood Supply Chains Support Small-Scale Fisheries and Aquaculture?” from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on October 1. The panel will look at how chefs, international seafood buyers, certification groups and NGOs can support incentives for small-scale seafood producers to adhere to sustainable fishing and farming practices.

The Responsible Seafood Summit takes place from September 29-October 2, 2025, in Cartagena, Colombia.
