Save the date for the next SFP Fisheries Forum
SFP is pleased to announce the return of the SFP Fisheries Forum to America! Sustainable Fisheries Partnership will once again be hosting a Fisheries Forum in the Americas on February 9, 2016, in Miami, Florida. Please save the date!
Previously, SFP has held Forums in Las Vegas, Orlando and Atlanta. For the Forum in Miami, SFP is planning to truly make the event the “Americas” Forum by including new partners and stakeholders from South and Central America.
In 2014, over 200 people attended the Forum in Las Vegas. In addition to presentations and panels on timely sustainable seafood issues, the Forum included a trade show with over 25 booths showcasing improvement projects, FIP implementation and sustainability support services from other NGOs and private firms, and seafood sustainability standards and certifications.
“What really makes the Forum special is the enthusiasm of participants – from retailers to suppliers to NGOs and certifications – for sharing best practices with each other and an equal commitment to facing challenges head on and being open about discussing them,” said Kathryn Novak, director of buyer engagement at SFP. “The Fisheries Forum is really just that – a forum – and we can’t wait to bring it back in 2016.”
SFP is also hosting a European Fisheries Forum later this month in Madrid, Spain.
More details on the 2016 Americas Forum will come later this year, but please mark your calendars for the return of this great event.
