Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) – Accepted Schemes List
Global
What is it?
The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an independent, international non-profit organization that manages a leading certification and labeling program for responsible aquaculture.
Together with their partners, they run a program to transform seafood farming globally and promote the best environmental and social aquaculture performance towards environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
What is it?
The ASC Accepted Schemes List is one of the Due Diligence pathways used to determine the risk level for the sourcing of marine and plant-based ingredients under the ASC Feed Standard.
The list outlines what schemes ASC considers to demonstrate Low Risk in the sourcing of aquafeed ingredients, at Ingredient Manufacturer and Primary Raw Material sourcing levels, and if they meet all legal, social, and environmental risk categories.
If the ingredient is not recognised by an accepted certification scheme, another pathway must be used until Low Risk is achieved; otherwise, the mill cannot source from that supply chain at the time (until a permitted risk level is achieved).
