What is it?

A life cycle inventory (LCI) of products in the agriculture and food industry.

Blonk created the Agri-footprint database to provide a thorough and consistent life cycle inventory (LCI) of products in the agriculture and food industry, which is necessary for improving sustainability.

The database includes information about food, animal feed, and agricultural materials. It helps make the food system more transparent and allows important players to lessen their environmental impact.

The database covers a wide range of products and processes, totaling nearly 5,000, most of which are specific to particular countries. Examples include various fertilizers, vegetable oils, sugars, starches, animal products like milk and meat, and marine ingredients such as fish meal and oil.

Since its release in 2014, various organizations have used Agri-footprint for applications such as product Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), carbon footprinting, hotspot analysis, labeling schemes, and implementation in sustainability software solutions and services.
