We are making an important update in Seafood Metrics that will go live on June 24, 2026. This update will improve clarity and consistency in how fishery profiles are structured.
What is changing?
Currently, some fishery profiles combine both a Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) and a Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) status in one profile. After this update, these combined profiles will be split into two separate profiles – one for FIP and one for MSC.
What happens to existing data?
All previously reported data will remain intact. The combined profiles will still be visible in historical data. However, after June 24, the system will automatically split them, and the new profiles will be saved as favorites for you. Suppliers will see these separate profiles automatically – no need to re-add them – so they can report against either the FIP or MSC option as needed.
What will suppliers see?
Suppliers who had previously saved a combined profile will see two distinct profiles added to their favorites automatically. They should ensure they select the appropriate profile – either FIP or MSC – depending on their reporting needs.
Why are we making this change?
This will:
- Clarify each profile’s purpose
- Reduce confusion in reporting
- Ensure accurate tracking of FIP and MSC statuses.
When will this take effect?
The update will go live on June 24, 2026.
Do I need to take any action?
No immediate action is required. The system will handle the split automatically, and your favorites will be updated. Just select the right profile when reporting.
