Indonesia Supply Chain Roundtable Leader

Amber Von Harten is the Indonesia Supply Chain Roundtable Leader for SFP. Prior to joining SFP in early 2019, she served as the Fishery Citizen Science Program Manager for the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council, one of the eight federal fishery management agencies in the U.S. Her work focused on developing a comprehensive science-based research and stakeholder engagement program to meet the Council’s management and policy needs where fishing stakeholders and scientists collaboratively designed and implemented research projects using citizen science approaches. In her role with SFP, Amber’s work is focused on Indonesia snapper grouper, tuna, and blue swimming crab. Through work with the Supply Chain Roundtables, she works directly with U.S. importers and retailers to engage the supply chain and support fishery improvement projects in Indonesia. Amber has a B.S. in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina. She also worked as a fisheries specialist for the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium developing domestic seafood marketing programs and coordinated education and research programs at a remote field station for the University of South Carolina. She is based in the U.S. in South Carolina.
