What is it?

Managed by Proforest, the POCG is a group of companies from across the palm oil supply chain to boost the implementation of No Deforestation, No Peat Expansion, No Exploitation (NDPE) commitments, discuss key issues, and identify areas for collaboration.

The group meets twice a year to work on key areas taken forward by four working groups that include other stakeholders such as social and environmental NGOs and service providers.

These working groups are:

  1. Implementation Reporting Framework Active Working Group (IRF AWG): This group creates a tool for companies to track and understand how well they’re implementing their No Deforestation, No Peat Expansion, No Exploitation (NDPE) commitments across the production base connected to their supply chain. An NDPE Implementation Reporting Framework webpage has been created to monitor progress, identify gaps, and drive improvements.
  2. Social Issues Working Group (SIWG): This group promotes collaboration to address human rights issues directly where they occur.
  3. Production and Protection Beyond Concessions (PPBC): This group helps small-scale producers and protects forests beyond concessions by identifying strategies, creating action plans, and monitoring progress.
  4. Independent Verification Working Group (IVWG): This group discusses and develops effective methods for independent verification across various issues and purposes.
