What is it?

Nature4Climate (N4C) is a coalition of organizations across the environmental sector, all dedicated to helping raise the profile of nature as a solution for a more sustainable, equitable, and nature-positive future.

Nature4Climate brings together organizations around the world in a joint effort to drive investment in and action on nature-based solutions (NbS)*.

They do this by catalyzing partnerships between governments, civil society, businesses, and investors.

Their work includes advocating for and demonstrating the breadth and untapped potential of better management of land activities; highlighting success stories of meaningful nature and climate action around the world; facilitating dialogue around Nbs; sharing scientific knowledge; providing unbranded communications resources and creative treatments of the subject, and more.

Their resources include Naturebase, which is a new interactive platform that brings together science-based data on nature’s pathways to benefit the climate by showing where, why, and how to implement high-integrity nature-based projects with the highest carbon mitigation impact whilst improving livelihoods and protecting biodiversity.

Footnote

Nature-based solutions (NbS) are actions that protect, sustainably manage, and restore natural and modified ecosystems to address societal challenges. They can provide long-term positive benefits that flow from healthy ecosystems and target significant challenges by providing climate change mitigation, disaster risk reduction, food and water security, and improved health outcomes.
